Galaxy Patch, sired by Wandjina and bred by Rob & Maureen McBryde of Summerset Park, is making a mark in Hong Kong by claiming victory in the Group III Premier Plate (1800m) at Sha Tin with a remarkable comeback from a challenging position.
Starting as the second favourite, Galaxy Patch initially trailed behind but surged ahead to narrowly win with a powerful final push.
Trained by Pierre Ng and ridden by Vincent Ho, Galaxy Patch secured second place in the Hong Kong Derby in March and recently won the Group III Lion Rock Trophy (1600m).
Jockey Vincent Ho commended Galaxy Patch's potential and performance, praising the horse's excellence and the team's support. Trainer Pierre Ng is optimistic about the future, highlighting the horse's flexibility across various race distances.
With an impressive track record, Galaxy Patch has triumphed in 7 out of 13 races to date and will be aiming for the big races next season.
Purchased for $50,000 at Magic Millions Adelaide by Will Clarken, Suman Hedge Bloodstock and David Jolly, Galaxy Patch initially won in Adelaide before being sold to Hong Kong arriving in May 2023.
