Redoute’s Choice stallion Barbados stands at Ducatoon Park in South Australia.
Barbados (5h Redoute’s Choice – Virage De Fortune by Anabaa) is a Darley homebred.
His dam Virage De Fortune was a Group 1 winner of the QTC Sires’ Produce Stakes and MVRC Australia Stakes. She was later purchased by Sheikh Mohammed for a record-breaking $3.40 million at the 2007 Inglis Broodmare Sale.
Second dam Virage is a daughter of Kenmare who pioneered the shuttle era when he flew from France to Arrowfield in 1988. He sired Virage from champion mare Emancipation.
Barbados suffered a broken pelvis which ended his career after five starts. Ducatoon Park owner Peter Toole has placed a $4,400 (inc gst) fee on his services.
