The South Australian Thoroughbred Breeders Inc. (SATB) was formed in the late 1940s with its original name, the South Australian Bloodhorse Breeders Association.
The aim of the association is to promote and advance the interests of the South Australian thoroughbred industry, and its breeders.
The SATB were closely involved with the planning and structuring of the South Australian Breeders and Owners Incentive Scheme (SABOIS) and work with Thoroughbred Racing SA (TRSA) to maintain and grow the scheme.
Recognition of excellence within the industry is made with monthly and seasonal awards presented at the Annual Dinner with the highlight the prestigious
Horse of the Year award.
